Description:  NC ECHO identified every institution in the state open to the public and holding a permanent non-living collection of unique materials. The project has identified nearly 1,000 of these cultural heritage institutions including archives, library special collections, art museums and art councils, historic house museums, history museums, state historic sites and state parks. NC ECHO partner institutions vary in type, size, budget and location but they are united in their mission to protect the artifacts and documents that tell the story of our state's heritage while allowing users access to collections.
