Barton College Discipliana Collection
The Discipliana Collection, owned jointly by the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in North Carolina and Barton College. This is basically a religious collection. The collection was formally begun in 1924 by Dr. Charles Crossfield Ware for the preparation of Disciples of Christ in North Carolina (1927). It was kept at the College and augmented by Ware until 1967. Upon C.C. Ware's departure for a retirement home, it was put under the care of an archivist, along with college records. The College records were later separated from the purely chruch records and books and are maintained separately.
