Hiddenite Center, Inc.
The Hiddenite Center is a folk and cultural arts center, housed in a Victorian house that enables visitors to step back in time. Period furniture and art fill the lower level of the museum, which also includes an exhibition of native gems and minerals. A large doll collection dating from the 1800s spurs childhood memories in addition to depicting popular culture. The changing exhibitions of the gallery allow visitors to mesh the history and heritage of the past within the art of today. The museum also provides hands-on educational activities and arts programming to encourage self-expression in the arts and promote preservation of local history.
