Gaston
American Military Museum
The American Military Museum in Gastonia, sponsored by American Legion Post 23, consists primarily of a unique collection of military artifacts covering all wars and all services. Although many of the military items come from local Gaston County veterans or are connected to Gaston County, the collection as a whole is much more broad in scope. The museum is divided into three major sections - 1) the military collection, the largest section featuring photos, uniforms, medals, arms, artifacts, and interpretive educational exhibits; 2) the History of the City of Gastonia Collection, which includes photos, books, and archival material; and 3) the Rambling Rebels Drum and Bugle Corps Collection documenting the history of Gastonia's most famous musical group.
