Anson County Arts Council
The Anson County Arts Council seeks to enrich the cultural lives of the people of Anson County by nurturing and supporting excellence in the arts, promoting, presenting and encouraging educational activities, and increasing the community's awareness of and appreciation for the arts. This organization serves as an umbrella agency in the county assisting a variety of local art groups such as the Anson County Writers Club, Anson Memory Maker Quilters' Guild, and the Anson Children's Theatre. The Anson County Arts Council's permanent collection includes paintings, prints, and three-dimensional works acquired from yearly art shows and the Anson Arts & Heritage Festival co-sponsored by the Arts Council and the Anson County Historical Society each year.

Anson County Historical Society, Inc.
Boggan-Hammond House / Alexander Little Wing / Ashe-Covington Medical Museum / Leavitt Building

The Anson County Historical Society researches and promotes interest in the history of Anson County. This organization actively seeks to preserve locations and buildings of historical, architectural, and/or aesthetic interest in Anson County and sponsors programs to educate the public about the significance of these places. The Anson County Historical Society presently owns or manages several cemeteries and owns several buildings and homes including four local museums open to the public; the Boggan-Hammond House, the Alexander Little Wing, the Ashe-Covington Medical Museum and the Tom Little Collection in the Leavitt Building.

Hampton B. Allen Library (Sandhill Regional Library System)
Hampton B. Allen Library Local History Room

The Hampton B. Allen Library Local History Room seeks to provide patrons with materials useful in researching local history and genealogy. The Local History Room contains two collections of local genealogists - the Dunlap Collection and the Ingram Collection. Other holdings include family and subject vertical files, the personal papers and correspondence of former Anson County Clerk of Court Boggan, and a UDC scrapbook full of photos and reminiscences. A separate conference room in the library houses local memorabilia, portraits, and antique furniture and is paneled with wood taken from the first Anson County Library, which was located in the second oldest house in Wadesboro.

South Piedmont Community College Learning Resources Center

Special Collections at SPCC LRC consist of the Linn Garibaldi Collection, the Frank Clark Collection, and the College History Collection. Linn Garibaldi was the first president of the Board of Directors when the school was Anson Tech in 1963. Frank Clark was a local land surveyor in the 1940's and 1950's.

Sneydsborough: A Ripple in the River Outdoor Drama

"Sneydsborough: A Ripple in the River" is an outdoor drama that tells the story of the now defunct town of Sneydsborough, established c.1795 on the Pee Dee River in Anson County when it was thought that navigation of the Pee Dee was possible from the ocean up into this area.
