Lincoln County Historical Association Lincoln County Museum of History
The Lincoln County Museum of History was established and is maintained by the Lincoln County Historical Association for the collection, preservation, study, and exhibition of authentic artifacts and other historical materials relating to the history and heritage of Lincoln County, North Carolina. The museum houses two major collections: 1) objects and artifacts including but not limited to pottery, iron, quilts, clothing and other textiles, tools, farm equipment, and furniture; and 2) special collections including photographs, books, maps, correspondence, diaries, account books, newspapers, microforms, broadsides, posters, memorabilia, oral histories, addresses, and other documents pertaining to the history of Lincoln County. Of particular interest are the papers of State Treasurer Harlan Boyles.

Charles R. Jonas Library Lincoln County Room
The Lincoln County Room collects both published and manuscript material on local history and genealogy including information on churches and other buildings, cemeteries, wars, natural disasters, and various other subjects. This collection also includes histories of the surrounding counties, general North Carolina histories and genealogy reference books, and material related to migratory routes to and from the Lincoln County area. Of particular interest is a daybook kept in the Civil War by Confederate General Stephen D. Ramseur and a photograph of Lincoln County native Carrie McLean, said to be the first female attorney in the state.
