Mountain Magnolia Inn
The Mountain Magnolia Inn, an operating inn in Hot Springs, NC, is housed in the family home of Colonel James H. Rumbough. Rutland, as the house was known, was built in 1868 and was restored in the late 1990s by owners Pete and Karen Nagle. Only a few family artifacts remain, including four oil paintings, a silk shawl depicting magnolias and an original guest book from Rumbough's Patton Hotel. The public may view the artifacts during operating hours with the owners' permission.
