Latta House Foundation Historic Latta House
The Latta House is located in the historic Oberlin Village area of downtown Raleigh on the original site of Latta University, founded in the late 1800s by Reverend Morgan Latta to educate underprivileged and orphaned children in Raleigh's black community. The university ceased operation around 1920 and today only this one building remains. The Latta House Foundation is restoring the Latta House and grounds in order to establish it as an historic site and an ongoing community cultural center and archive.
