Whippoorwill Academy and Village Director Edith Carter poses with Tom Dooley's original tombstone. The Tom Dooley Museum, located on the upper floor of the academy, not only features artifacts associated with the infamous story, but also features Mrs. Carter's paintings which illustrate the story.
